Laura Rose Sanford is a mixed media artist, designer, writer, and musician born in the bay area.

She finds beauty and camaraderie in the grotesque, in the horror of having a body, by weaving together all parts of us creatures through soupy metaphors and unapologetic non sequiturs. She finds hope and wonder in queer spaces; in metaphysical world building great and small. Her most recent work includes sculptural reliefs of embroidered seed beads, erasure poem collages, and plaster multiples.

Her work has appeared in exhibitions at Gray Area, Root Division, Pro Arts Gallery, Axis Gallery, The Drawing Room, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

She lives and works in the east bay, moonlighting as an academic and writing lullabies for former goths.
